Does Learn Japanese Language Software Really Work?
There is no doubt that ‘learn to speak Japanese software’ is exploding in popularity, and all languages for that matter. However some people still ask the question “does learning Japanse software work?” So I have decided to address that question here.
The first thing that I need to address is the different learning style that people have, and the main ones are visual learning, practical learning (taking part) and audio learning. Most people are a mixture of all three however some lean towards one aspect more heavily.
I for example need to take part and do a task in order to learn it, and after I have made a few mistakes I then start to learn. Other people prefer to watch something be done first and formulate there thoughts around it.
Either way when you are in a classroom setting and learning a language you will notice that a good teacher will create these learning environments for students. For example a teacher will often say a new sentence in Japanese to the class and then follow this up by writting the sentence of the board and finally ask the students to practice the new Japanese sentence or phrase.
When it comes to learning Japanese software the first class companies have done their research and make software that re-creates this classroom setting very closely. Therefore what the best online Japanese courses do is teach you Japanese by demonstrating using audio of a native Japanese speaker, and provide the Japanese sentence in written out form for you, and then they will get you to have a go yourself.
A very fascinating fact is that language specialists all agree that the quickest way to pick up Japanese and all languages for that matter is through listening to real conversation between Japanese native speakers.
However in a classroom setting the way that a tutor re-creates this is by playing an audio file to the students, because there is only one teacher and they will find it tough to hold a conversation with themselves. Essentially this is exactly what a learn Japanese languages course online does anyway!
So in closing my opinion and experience is yes, learn Japanese language software does work and very well, however the downside is that unless you are a self motivated person you may find it difficult to keep up with regular lessons and hence you may learn slower than if you where taking classes and had a teacher motivating you to learn. So at the end of the day you need to decide what option is best for you.
