Locating a good school for your children has become increasingly important these days. Education is the key to unlocking your child’s success for the future. The theory is that if a child goes to a good primary school, then they should in theory be able to progress up the ladder easily. A child should then go on to a good high school, followed by a 6th form or college to study their A-levels leaving the path clear for a place at University.

It is now becoming easier for parents to search for schools that meet their expectations and their child’s requirements by looking online. Many schools now have their own websites and many others are listed in Internet directories. This resource is fantastic for parents as they can find out exactly what they need to do to get their child to the right school.

Parents are very competitive when it comes to enrolling their children into the right school. People are planning ahead before even conceiving the children to get into the best catchment areas for certain schools. Parents are also planning ahead by trying to find the best independent schools in Wiltshire and the other Home Counties to find out what options are available to them.

The increased online educational information has become an advantage for parents of special needs children as they can locate educational facilities that specifically cater for different conditions. While some local schools may cater for dyslexic kids they may not have the facilities to help children with associated conditions. This means large proportions of parents have to look for help from other specific learning difficulty educational institutions such as dyscalculia schools.

A range of independent schools offer help for a range of conditions like dyspraxia and dyscalculia, two learning difficulties closely associated with dyslexia that are rarely catered for or are unknown about. Good dyspraxia schools offer help specifically for dyspraxics and good dyscalculia schools cater for those suffering from dyscalculia. However parents are more likely to find special needs schools that primarily take on dyslexic students but cater for dyscalculia and dyspraxia suffers too. This is down to the fact that these learning disabilities are all associated.

Many pupils that suffer with learning disabilities don’t have schools near to them that can cater for their individual requirements. This gives a family of a child two options, relocate in to a catchment area that does or send their child to boarding school. Boarding schools are good for children with learning disabilities as having the structure of a daily routine which is not always possible when living at home.
