TV shows about crime and police investigation have become increasingly popular over the years. New careers as a forensic scientist usually require 37 hour weeks, working Monday to Friday. There may be some shift work needed and you may have to do on call work if something big comes up. Work is generally all done in a laboratory, but there will also be some travelling to the crime scenes to gather and investigate possible evidence. To get into these New careers you’ll need to posses a good honours degree in a scientific subject, typically biology and chemistry linked subjects are the preferred choices.
