Speaking French is not necessary to survive in today’s world, but it sure helps a lot. Speaking French is an asset, but you can get by without it. Gertrude Stein was right: “It’s not what Paris gives you that’s important.” Speaking French is a bonus, though one should be able to get by. France is a truly wonderful country worth visiting.
Speaking French by using Rocket French is a tremendous asset for students’ business and personal career. Speaking French is definitely a “use it or lose it” situation, so find any time you can to use the language. Maybe you can go to a French restaurant and talk to your waiter in French. Speaking French by reading this Rocket French Review is less useful than it was several years ago, as the French-speaking Vietnamese population has decreased. However, it should be noted that many of the Vietnamese you will deal with, especially on the street and in taxis, do not speak English beyond a few basic words.
Speaking French is fun, as you already know, and we use immersion in our classes, meaning that we speak mostly French. Questions to think about and complete over the summer on separate sheets of paper. Please review these answers frequently over the summer, and write out your French often to keep it fresh before you see me again in September! Speaking French with these Rocket French Reviews is a wonderful idea, even if it’s just learning a little bit of it. Try watching French movies so you can hear the native language more, I would suggest ‘Amelie’ or ‘La Vie En Rose’ because they’re great movies, so you can watch them with subtitles, and pick up more of the language. Speaking French is always elegant and classy, therefore, romantic. French is obviously considered a Romance language since its roots come from Latin, which is the official language of the Roman empire in olden times.
Canada is bilingual too. I believe people should know both English and French in the work place. Canada has been bilingual for over 100 years; today being fluent in French and English is a must. One quarter of Canada’s population speaks French and having the ability to communicate with them is a great asset.
Speaking French is a way of life and a manner of thinking; but above all, it is a cultural experience. Speaking French is like the beginning of a journey into vast treasury of outlooks.
