LMS: the Solution to Education Crisis

Teachers are one of the most influential entities of students especially in their childhood. However, if these educators fail to do the responsibility and obligation vested upon them, then the future of the society will be in put at stake.  

The teachers have a crucial role in building the perceived future of their students.   However, if the teachers fail to portray their role appropriately, then the fate of the students are put at risk.

What becomes of a man can be traced from how well (or poor) his educators portrayed their role during his formative years. Hence, the educators should provide only the best fostering to their students.

The quality of education in the United States is swarmed with numerous unresolved issues such as the incompetence and malpractice of educators. The image of public school educators is being criticized because of the surging malicious incidents involving their credibility and competence in the classroom.

The competency of educators in public schools in the United States is becoming dodgy to the parents and students nowadays. This has become one of the reasons why the quality of education in the country is deteriorating.

Serious issues haunt the quality of public education in the United States. One of the long-time overdue issues is the unacceptable conduct of teachers inside the classroom in terms of competency and compliance with the standards.

In 1999, investigative studies in some cities in the United States revealed the “other” face of teachers of public schools. The teachers were discovered to deviate from the standards of the academic institution. It was found out that students were allowed to bring home their tests as home-works; students could take tests even beyond the allotted time; students who were considered poor in academics were discouraged from taking tests; students were given grades higher than their actual performance; and lastly, the teachers were not reprimanded for such misconduct and policy violations.  

Researches are conducted to assess the real conduct and performance of the teachers behind the parent’s backs. Teacher credibility and management competency have become sources of doubts and questions of parents about the education system. The course of public education is unclear to many parents because of the known teaching malpractice of educators. Research found out that there are educators who would allow students to bring home tests; would tolerate students to take the tests beyond the allotted duration; poor performing students were kept back from taking tests; grades given would be higher than actual performance—and such teachers would not be given sanctions for their dishonest unprofessional conduct.

Professional misconduct of teachers has shaken the public education because of the results of investigative research conducted in some cities in the country. Teachers were found out to have deviated from the norm of academic excellence as students were allowed to take their tests home; go beyond the prescribed test duration; students were given higher scores than actual performance—while no sanction was given to such malpractice.

The issue on unprofessional conduct of educators should be addressed right away regardless of how rampant it is because of the pressing effect it brings to the quality of public education. School administrators should adopt a learning management system, or LMS. The school can be aided with the LMS as it is software for tracking, managing administrative and academic requirements.   Since an LMS is web-based, the curriculum is standardized, hence, ensuring that all information, manuals, modules, and test questionnaires are official and approved by the governing administrators. The students will be trained to grasp and appreciate virtual learning, while the teachers will be challenged to practice virtual management. In essence, there exists transparency in terms of regulations and curriculum compliance among teachers, students, and the school administrators. The LMS also provides a performance management feature that will monitor the conduct and behaviour not only of students, but also of teachers. The students are assured of a standardized curriculum that will settle the parents while their children are with the teachers. Since LMS has a measuring feature, it is guaranteed that the students’ grades are based on actual performance during online discussions and sessions.  

Essentially, the problem of teaching malpractice must be resolved immediately before the education quality worsens. The best way to arrest the problem is through a learning management system. Through an LMS, schools are able to monitor and manage the academic training and education. The LMS, as software, has the capability of monitoring and assessing the performance of students and teachers. The online nature of LMS allows the school administrators to standardize all information manuals and training materials. The parents and students are assured of the teachers’ compliance to school standards. Since the academic curriculum is readily available, parents and students can have an overview of the course. The LMS also has a performance management feature that will assess the routine and accomplishments of teachers on a daily basis. Unlike in classroom set-up, grades of each student can be measured accurately since the LMS can base scores on actual inputs.

There is a need to resolve the problem on teaching malpractice in public education. A learning management system, also known as LMS, is the best answer to cure this worsening illness in education.   Performance, training and education management can be handled by the LMS software. The web, as the central hub, can accommodate standardized academic and administrative requirements. Parents no longer need to worry about the credibility of the teaching approach and methodology of educators since information source is made standard and official. Since the LMS has a performance management feature, the actions, behaviour and accomplishments of both teachers and students are monitored. Credibility and accuracy of grades given to students are guaranteed because of the capability of an LMS to measure the actual performance of the students based on inputs.

The issue on teaching misconduct can be resolved through a learning management system to save the public education system in the country.

The tainted reputation of the teaching profession in public education can be salvaged by practising a learning management system; this will lead to the improvement of the quality of education in the country as well.

Establishing the credibility of educators and the education system should be the priority of the public schools to regain the tainted reputation of the teaching profession in the United States.
