It is very comforting knowing that you are in control of your own future, there is no fear of redundancy or being fired, provided you can keep the work coming in, you’ve got nothing to fear. In regards to bringing the work in however, again we have a disadvantage. By beginning New Careers through self-employment, you are running a rather big gamble, the risk being, that you don’t locate any customers. It can be difficult getting your name recognised, you’re starting a new business, not a soul has heard of you and you’re possibly opposing some large retail stores depending on the type of business you chose. You must be prepared for a slow and difficult start, ensure you have savings to keep you going while you develop a reputation, if you’re good at what you do, it will happen eventually.
