University Can Be Expensive So Some Students Choose To Work For A Year Before Beginning Their Course
Many graduates finish university now with huge debts. They spend their early working years paying off their student loans which while at very low interest rates are still a lump of their earnings which are gone before they start. This can have an effect on many areas of their lives, buying a home, getting married, starting a family. All may have to be put on hold while the debts are settled.
Some of them therefore select to take a year between A levels and university to work and amass some savings, in order to help them through university, thereby enabling their working lives to be relatively free of debt.
